Nikon D7200 RAW NEF Hack for Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop Brad Thompson. The only way to edit your RAW files in Adobe Lightroom is with opening your Nikon D7200's raw files with Nikon's software. Sep 4, 2013 - Adobe Photoshop CS6: Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 You can open. Is happening even though mac is up to date and can read new NEF files?
Try this: it is the latest version of Adobe camera RAW 7.4. Evidently there are a couple of older versions of 7.4 for whatever reason. It says it supports the d7100, bur so did the other versions. By the way, this version is for windows. They have another one for Mac. One more thing: It says, To install Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe says 'Please use the update mechanism in Photoshop CS6' The link above is for the DNG Converter, a free utility, to be used by those who don't have PS CS6, Lightroom 4, or PSE 11.
The DNG Converter 7.4 will convert the D7100 Raw files into the DNG format. This is a 'universal' format. Therefore, you will be able to open your converted RAW files in earlier versions of these programs. If you have PS CS6, you use the Camera Raw Converter plug-in (which comes preinstalled in PS CS6). Adobe updates this plug-in automatically. The current update is Camera Raw 7.4 (which introduced support for the D7100).

You can see which version of this plug-in you have by going to HelpAbout Plug-InCamera Raw. Got my D7100 wed. Used it today other than the controls being backwards to my D300 I love it. Now my problem is CS6 will not convert the raw files, I checked to see that I had the latest DNG. Converter 7.4 which I do. Can find nothing on Adobes help pages. Can someone help me?
Converted ViewNX2 Thanks for the updated info on the D 7100, I love my D7000 and always wonder if its worth upgrading. As far as Adobe I use the online subscription so I always get the latest updates and have access to everything. Thanks for the posts.great shots! In CS6 you can update to the new ACR 8.1, it will support the D7100. You don't need to do this just to open the D7100's Raw files in PS CS6. Adobe introduced support for the D7100 in the first week of April with the release of ACR 7.4 update.
ACR 7.4 is compatible with PS CS6, Lightroom 4, and PSE 11. The screenshot below is from this site: And, if anyone is interested in ACR 8.1 update, please keep the following in mind: ACR 8.1 is still in the Beta (Release Candidate) phase. The final version won't be released probably until the beginning of June. Because this update is still in the Beta phase, it is not available via the automatic update mechanism in PS CS6, PSE 11, and Lightroom 4. It is available via download from Adobe Labs.
